      • resulted from first half of formerly COSC 3240.06 supplemented with more linear algebra computations and spline  interpolation.

      • resulted from second half of formerly COSC 3240.06 supplemented with optimization of functions of several variables and nonlinear equations.
    • COSC 4100.03B - Numerical Nonlinear Optimization and Equations Special Topics given in 1985–86 and 1986–87.
    • MATH 6940.03B A & B - Constrained Nonlinear Programming I & II
      ​Advanced Topics in Computer Science given to one Mathematics graduate student in 1985. The content was later integrated with COSC 4100.03B above to form the graduate course COSC 5222.03.
