Reseach Interests
- Higher Index Theory: Classical Atiyah-Singer indx theorem is among the gerat achivements of mathematics in twentith century. It might be considered as a generalization of the Gauss-Bonnet theorem to higher dimensions. This theorem provides a topological expression for the Fredholm index of certain Dirac-type operators. Modern Index Theory deals with more general concept of Fredholm index taking their values in the K-theory of certain operator algebras and study the properties of these indices and their topological and geometric contents. In particular it is tightly related to Novikov Conjecture and provids also some obstruction for the existance of Riemannian metrics with positive scalar curvaure, c.f. Gromov-Lawson-Rosenberg Conjecture.
